1981 Repeated the LCAMC win, was runner up in the AEMC then sold the car.   Gave up my job as a rep to help John with the growing garage business and opened a car accessory shop within the garage premises.

1984 Started designing & fitting go-faster stripes & graphics for fun. This developed into full time business for ten years supplying garages & car body repair shops.

1987 Sold Garage & opened car accessory shop in March, Cambs

1988 Entered & won the “Woman Driver of the Year” competition promoted by “Woman” magazine & sponsored by Fiat & others.

1990 Opened toning table salon in Chatteris, Cambs in first floor premises and one year later turned the ground floor into a card & gift shop

1992 Opened second card & gift shop in Ely, Cambs.   I still have both these businesses.

1994. Moved the car accessory shop to Chatteris which we finally sold in 2000 so John could “retire” (!)

1995 Resurrected the rally team by buying an old Maestro & entered some road rallies, but they’d changed and although we managed to win one Welsh Championship event , we were outclassed on most occasions. BUT we had a lot of fun.   Sold the car in 2001.

1998 Opened third, card & party shop in Newmarket.  This stretched me a bit too far so I sold it in 2002.

2003 Purchased my life’s ambition – a classic 1989 Porsche 911 – a real poser car, red of course. It’s absolutely magic!

2004. Still have 2 card gift & party shops with good staff in both & we are enjoying a bit more time off now and (regretfully) no kids to spend our hard earned pennies.
