Ali Green

Thoroughly enjoyed the Championship - great opportunity but didn't make the grade to go higher! Co-drove for several years for Stuart Larbey in a Mk1 Escort on southern based stage rallies. Married in 1985 - Mick Briggs. Bought a house and an old mini and went autotesting and road rallying. We bought a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 to restore - still an unfinished project 12 years on!

Later bought a 1964 Wolseley Hornet and went budget Historic Rallying with some degree of success with Mick navigating. Initiated and ran the Speedsport Design Clubman's Rally Championship for the HRCR for the first two years in the middle 1990's - handed it over to another girl when my Dad got very sick. He died in 1997 and Mum 7 month's later - not a good time in my life.

Wolseley Hornet was written off in Ireland on a road event and a Mini Cooper replaced it on a temporary basis about 6 years ago!
We have an on going project of a 1964 Riley Elf that is in the final stages of a long restoration to become a Road/Stage rally car "Cooper S" spec with full cage, lines inside and fully plumbed in system. Probably be too senile to drive it by the time its finished!

From 1997, Annie Roden and I set up and ran the The Regis Classic Tour (Annie as Clerk and me as gofa with the help of a team of 10 other ladies) - she retired after 4 years and I carried on. We have now raised over £121,000 for charity in the last seven years.

Employment wise: Worked a Sales & Promotions Manager for a Gatwick Hotel until 1985 when we married.
1985 - 2000 was the local village Estate Agent
2002 - current now work part time for the local radio station selling radio advertising - still do the odd event, organise a couple of events per year - The Regis Rally as Secretary and The Regis Classic Tour as Event Organiser for the local motor club - Bognor Regis.
Annie & Neil Roden now live 100 yards down the road having moved from Leamington Spa about 20 ish years ago.

No kids but 2 large black labradors!
Things don't change at all really! Thought I'd grow out of the Motorsport but I probably still be involved in my bath-chair!
